Aliki Chrysochou and Ellen Williams Record The Flower Duet at Studio 250
In September, we were thrilled to welcome critically acclaimed sopranos Aliki Chrysochou and Ellen Williams to Studio 250 for the recording of their latest release, The Flower Duet from Delibes’ Lakmé.
This iconic operatic duet places high demands on both performers and production. Capturing it successfully requires not only outstanding singers, but also a recording environment and engineering approach capable of preserving clarity, balance, and detail. We were proud to be part of bringing this release to life.
The session was engineered by Matt Butler, whose impressive career includes working with artists such as Paul McCartney, Steve Harley, and Jan Smit. Having also helped design Studio 250, Matt knows the space inside out, bringing a calm, thoughtful approach that captured the intimacy, warmth, and detail of the performance.
For us, this release marks an important milestone. It reflects not only the versatility of Studio 250, but also how far the studio has come, from an initial concept to a professional recording space capable of capturing performances of this calibre, right here in the beautiful Forest of Dean.
